So after my hiatus a new codex for my first love has been released.

Well that escalated quickly

Back from the deep depths of madness, I survived!

This is a sad post

My personal life has taken an unexpected turn for the worst and I feel like I have hit rock bottom. Things that I did not see coming and had no ability to stop have put my life into perspective. I'm going to be selling off all my wargaming stuff. Models, equipment, paint, brishes, everything.
I am going to be running a team tournament this weekend at my FLGS and that will be the last wargaming I participate in for a long long time.

Im going to be taking my items down there to sell and whatever dosent get bought up I will ahve a friend of mine put on ebay for me.

As much as it pains me to do so I have to put the brushes down for the time being, focus more on getting myself better and figure out what I am going to do with myself.

So this month we have a team tourney coming up. 1250 pts a person with 3 scenarios. Its shaping up to be a large event with 7 teams signed up and more than 2 weeks to go.

Hey guys and gals, I'm waiting for the paint and washes to dry on my ravenwing cavalry and remembered that I haven't posted in a while.

After action report

Yesterday I went to a 1850 point tournament outside of my local area, it was a 2 hour drive and I was staring at my gas gauge the whole way wondering if I had enough cash on me to get back home. ( I always have these issues when I head out of town, its like the cosmic universe is telling me to just stay home but I don't listen to it.)

Its that time again,Ive got an itch to do another artistic, fluffy army.

The DE Deathstar

So tests from the field indicate that this unit is indeed the real deal.

Let me just get into it then.

Fluff wise I see it as a happier time for the DE when Vect and the lady were still gettin it on and not committing genocide trying to kill one another.

So I only got to play one game last saturday. It was a 3 way game with my DE vs guard and chaos deamons. I rolled off and I deployed last meaning the ladys redeployment was moot. Then I rolled to seize with vects 4+ and I thought I got it but the argument by the deamon player was that it was cocked so re rolling it again I got a 1. So I go last... damn

Here is the murder tally for the squad
On my turn 1 I charged into fateweaver. I do 1 wound to him and he passes his leadership test. (He has a rerollable 3++ and the deamon player rolls WAYYYY over average) ON the top of turn 2 the fateweaver spawns the lady because the deamon powers don't count as 'psychic' and she is therefore not immune to them (I think it is total crap but he was yelling at me rather loudly so to keep him from scaring off the other people at the store I said fine he can do it, just a friendly game dude) Then I killed fateweaver the hard way in the enemies assault phase by taking off his remaining 3 wounds. So much for his lucky dice. I only had to do 28 wounds to take him down this time.

My turn 2 the squad charges into 5 blood crushers and kills them all before he even gets to swing.

My turn 3 I charge into 2 squads of plague bearers and again kill them before they even get to swing.

My turn 4 I charge into a sentinel from the guard player and stun/blow off its autocannon

We didn't go any further because I had nothing else left on the board. As with all 3 ways 2 members focus most of their attention on each other leaving the 3rd one alone to their own devices.

I was surrounded by pissed off veteran teams that I would have possibly killed if given enough turns but we called it there.

So even though it is a huge point sink and far and away from everything I preach with my DE lists I love the unit and I'm going to use it again in the future at the next tourney I go to . (whenever that is) If it slaughters, awesome, if it gets blown off the board by a well placed battle cannon round I will lol all the way to the losers bracket.

OH MY GAWD!!!!

I found it!

The way to pop the Cotez bubble! A way to circumvent the stupid difficult dangerous psychic horse crap that I have been lamenting about for the last 6 months.

I read a post on another blog about making a synergsed army list and using units that you haven't thought about before. (I forgot where I read it but thank you !)

So testing mandrakes and talos in a weird mash up list with no duplicate units I found a combination that made me start cackling maniacally at my desk.

I explained the unit to her. The way it will effect deployment and the start of the game. The way the unit will get where it needs to go. Going through each model and detailing what the expected damage output will be. Went through hit wound and armor penetration. The way it denies invulnerable saves and leaves them with not much to reply with the next turn. She started to smile and had a vacant stare on her face. SO I said "it kills stuff dead baby, don't pass go, don't collect $200." Then she understood.

We have a 1000pt city fight tourney at the end of the month I am debuting the unit it, so until then I am going to keep it under wraps. Tune in on the 29th for a full run down of the unit, the math hammer and on the table results.

Just some happy news to the whole 4 of you that actually read this.

I asked my girlfriend to marry me last night.

The holidays

Just a note that due to family obligations and my continuing work out like a madman routine to get my fat ass in shape for the military, the blog is going to probably be quiet until after the new year.

Quiet that is unless something earth shattering with the hobby happens. Like the CEO of GW steps down (*crosses fingers*) A new codex gets released, or grey knights get a FAQ to their FAQ that makes them actually follow the rules of 40k.

But I don't think that is going to happen in the next 2 weeks. So until we meet again.

bending rules till they snap, WAAC confessions

Yep I admit it. I am guilty of being a 40k asshat. I bent some rules the last weekend I was able to play 40k for an advantage and I have felt horrible about it since.

Its a 40k clearing house sale!!!!!!

No Im not quiting the game as I have threatened to do multiple times in the past.

I did a quick inventory of my 40k items here at the house and it just comes down to me haveing too much of it. I have plans for new "hobbiest" armies where I can thow alot of effort into converting and painting them. I have just reached critical mass and have no more room. So I officialy put my entire 40k collection up for sale. Hopefully I will be able to sell them as complete armies, in some cases like my deathwing I will break it up ( I have about 6000 points of deathwing what was I thinking)

Here I will list the armies I have for sale from memory because I left my actual list in the truck and I am to lazy to get it now. I will post pictures of the armies and full counts later on in the week. Assume all armies have a bit more to them but I cant remember all of it right now.
